I viewed with very mixed feelings the photograph of the men's basketball teams of SMII2 and SMII3 of 1960.

!960 was 49 years ago!

While I was more than happy to see the old faces of Chan Yik Choon, Yao Pa Sen, Ker Yen kwang, See Ding Sen, Soo Ren Swee, Wong Zen Chai,Chen Yee Jieh, Chai Chong Min etc., I couldnot help feeling a profound sense of loss as I came across the faces of those who are no longer with us in this world.

I remember very well the faces of Chiew Yong Chit, older brohter of Peter Khoo, of Fong Deng Poh, See Tien Song and Wong Jon Wong.

It is a sense of inevitablity we have to accept , yet it is also a sense of regret that they had to leave so soon and that we never had a chance to meet after leaving CHHS.

How I wish I could say sorry to them for not trying harder and earlier to see them and hear them again. This loss is for ever. Very, very sorry and may you rest in peace.

For those wo are still around, let us not miss any opportunity to meet and chat up again. Time and our age have made us forget whatever differences we might have when we were young.

Now that we have brought up our children and done our part as parents, the little time we have left now is so precious.

What better way can we find than sitting down with our old, old friends to talk about our laughters, our childish and youthful idealisms, our dreams, our mistakes and our foolishness when we were young?

Short of that, thank God today we have the internet to bridge this gap since we are separated in many places far away.

Stay in touch, guys, make the best of our remaining life, do not allow time just to slip by.

p.s. Apologies for not spelling your names correctly.
