破15萬令吉。
為移交首批義款，第六屆募捐小組主席蔡鴻禧博士，組員鄭亞明、鄭昭
賢、邱奕銅和陳麗莉6月16 日聯袂從吉隆坡返回麻坡中化中學母校。
中化中學署理董事長辜金強代表董事會接收由蔡鴻禧博士呈上的第六屆
同學的捐款支票。
在場見證的還有來自新山區的林清泉同學和麻坡區的邱文強同學，以及
中化中學校長陳蘇弟，董事會顧問楊樹傑，劉金新董事和董事會職員等。
吁各屆同學響應
辜金強署理董事長感謝第六屆同學的熱烈捐獻。他說，中化第五屆同學
和第六屆同學熱心地各捐獻10多萬令吉助學基金，令他感動。到目前，
只有兩屆的校友這麼熱心地響應母校的號召。
他說，中化有53屆的畢業同學，如果每一屆的同學都能像第五和第六屆
同學一樣發動起來，那將能取得可觀的成績。
他說，每一屆同學捐獻10令吉也好，捐獻1萬令吉也好，都是表達對母
校的一片心意。他呼吁其他各屆同學都像第五和第六屆同學一樣，齊心
行動起來。
他也呼吁各地的校友於6月29日回校參加校慶千人宴，回來參觀母校，看
看當今的情況。他說，中化中學目前的確已有很大的改變。
蔡鴻禧博士說，第六屆同學是靠大家的通力合作，各自盡自己所能捐
獻。不論是捐獻50令吉也好，或是捐獻 2萬、3萬令吉也好，都是表示
對母校的愛意。
他感謝中化董事會發動助學基金捐獻運動。他說，以前他唸書時，也接
受過別人的幫助。他希望母校中化中學更上一層樓。

Congratulations to Dr.Chua Hong Hee,Mr.Teh Cheong Hiong and all those who have brought this meaningful campaign to a happy milestone.
One person also needs special mention, Mdm.Tay Ah Ming who also went along to Muar for the presentation of the cheque.
She has acted as a shinning and selfless example for us all to help the poor students of CHHS. We are lucky to have her among us.
Among this group who went back to Muar for the presentation of the cheque, Khoo Yik Tung's trip was the first one since he left CHHS 47 years ago!!
I guess every step he took for that visit back to Muar must be leaden with a lot of thoughts and emotions, good for him!
Khoo was my close friend when we were in Class 1 of our senior middle classes, he was good at science and maths subjects and so one of the top students.
I don't think he believed it would take him so many years to return to the school as he left it in 1961.
Life outside CHHS was entirely different and there were many unexpected challenges he had to face.
But he did return after all , congratulations!
